To help you pack smart and avoid any unnecessary stress on your travel day, we have compiled the ultimate Tree House Hostel FAQ. Here are all the answers to the most common questions our guests ask us before walking through our doors.
1. What time are Check-in and Check-out?
Let’s start with the basics. Our standard check-in time starts at 2:00 PM (14:00). If your flight lands early in the morning, do not worry! You can arrive at the hostel, safely store your heavy luggage in our free baggage room, and start using the common areas or head straight to the beach until your bed is ready.
Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Again, if you have a late evening flight, you are more than welcome to leave your bags with us, hang out by the chill area, or take one last surf session before heading to the Tenerife South Airport.
2. Do I need to bring my own towels and bed linen?
This is probably the most asked question in our Tree House Hostel FAQ. Great news: you can save valuable space in your backpack! We provide fresh, clean bed linen for every single guest upon arrival. Your bed will be ready and waiting for you.
As for towels, we provide them for a very small, refundable deposit. However, please note that these are strictly bathroom towels. You will need to bring your own beach towel to dry off after surfing the waves of El Médano or relaxing on the black sand.
3. How secure are my belongings?
Security is our top priority. Every guest gets access to a large, personal security locker located right under or next to their bed. These lockers are big enough to fit a standard backpack and your valuable electronics (laptops, cameras, passports).
Important tip: You need to bring your own padlock to secure the locker! If you forget yours at home, don’t panic; we sell high-quality padlocks at the reception for just a few euros.
4. Can I cook my own food at the hostel?
Absolutely! One of the best ways to save money while traveling long-term is cooking your own meals. Our hostel features a massive, fully equipped communal kitchen. You will find massive fridges to store your groceries, plenty of stoves, ovens, microwaves, and all the pots, pans, and utensils you could possibly need. We even have a “Free Food” shelf where departing guests leave perfectly good ingredients (like pasta, rice, or spices) for new arrivals to use.
5. Do you rent surfboards and wetsuits?
Yes, we do! You do not need to pay expensive airline fees to fly your own heavy surfboard to Tenerife. We offer an excellent selection of soft-top boards for beginners, hard boards for advanced riders, and high-quality wetsuits. You can rent them directly at the reception on a daily or weekly basis.
